Data acquisition and processing:
- Software
- CODAS suite:
ADCP CODAS installation and processing documentation
- Ladcp: Lowered ADCP documentation and software.
- Development: Our software tools increasingly depend on python .
We encourage potential users to become familiar with this versatile, portable, and robust language.
Some of the modules we use include:
- ipython provides a powerful interactive shell;
it is valuable for beginners and experts alike
- numpy , for computations
- matplotlib , for graphics,
along with basemap ,
for map projections and topography
- scons , for controlling C compilation (like "make")
- pyrex ,
to create C from python (see also cython, a
fork of pyrex that is spreading rapidly in the scientific and numerical
computation community)
-
Mercurial, for software version control and access .
For example, the UH Currents Group software repositories, including
UHDAS, shipboard ADCP processing, and LADCP processing, are available
using this web interface .
Instructions for download and installation of UH Currents Group software starts

free and portable software tools we recommend.

Publications and presentations:
Processed Shipboard ADCP
Plots from shipboard ADCP datasets processed by this group are
available through the links below, generally organized by ship or by
project. Most of these data were collected by a 150KHz Narrow Band
RDI ADCP, originally collected with 5-minute averages and in 8-meter
bins. After processing, the data were further averaged to produce the
plots shown.
These and more ADCP data are available at the official ADCP data archive
location, the
(located Joint Archive for Shipboard ADCP)
